Bushing, one of the premier developers of Wii homebrew software, has discovered a security flaw that would allow a backup of a game to run on an unmodified Wii system.
Luckily for us, he had the sense to contact Nintendo about the flaw, rather than releasing it. Apparantly Nintendo has yet to respond, and Bushing may choose to release the information at a later time, but we're hoping it doesn't come to that.
Homebrew is great, but blatant piracy is not. We're hoping that Bushing's dialog with Nintendo will help them see the ethical and creative side of homebrew. It may not make them money directly, but if they take a "don't ask, don't tell" policy to the homebrew scene, the scene will respond with unmatched support.. after all.. Nintendo makes money on each console sold.. so even if one were to buy it purely for homebrew, Nintendo would still be profiting, and making us very very happy.

Well, it had already happened on a worldwide basis, thanks to the fact that Japan hates the 360, but the Wii has now hit a new milestone, passing the Xbox 360 in consoles sold in the US according to the June NPD sales reports.
Of course this feat is even more impressive based on the fact that the 360 had a year's head start on the Wii. Each day we're amazed at the sheer power and potential of Nintendo.
We realize we sound like fanboys here, but Nintendo truly is an icon of our generation, and we just love seeing them back on top.

During a Nintendo E3 developer roundtable, Shigeru Miyamoto, through a translater, confirmed the existence of Pikmin Wii.
Although this was not a planned announcement, rather just an answer to a question, it will bring glee to the hearts of many many Pikmin fans across the country.
Of course, we're assuming this is REALLY early so don't expect much more news on it for quite a while.

Everybody's favorite zombie game that [SPOILER..highlight to read]loses it's focus on zombies within an hour[/SPOILER] is coming to the Wii.
Scans have turned up in the newest issue of Famitsu, and Capcom has since confirmed the port. Being that we've already played through the Xbox360 version, we're hoping this is a spin off,.. and we'd love to kill a few zombies by hurling deadly Wii remotes at them!
Yes, yes,.. we're totally LATE with our release roundup this week. Sue us! Things have been crazy around here keeping up with all the happenings over in LA at E3.
Anyway.. we know you're dying to see what's out this week, so here they are!

Another game shown at E3 yesterday was Wii Music. Game might be the wrong word, as it appears that there is no way to lose at this.
Featuring over 60 instruments, a balance board enabled drum simulator, and even a conducting game, Wii Music looks to be everything that an aspiring air guitarist could want.
Each instrument is played by simply mimicking playing movements which the game translates to notes... correct notes. Every time. You see,.. Wii Music will NOT let you mess up. Before you know it(like, within seconds..) you and up to 3 friends can be dancing around like idiots and recording your own videos which can then be shared via WiiConnect24.
Yesterday at E3, Nintendo announced the sequel to arguably the Wii's biggest hit game: Wii Sports.
Known as Wii Sports Resort, the game will be the first to make use of(and include) the WiiMotion Plus accessory, which promises true 1:1 motion from the Wii Remote.
All games in this compilation will take place on a tropical island, and feature activities such as wave runners, sword fighting, and frisbee toss. We expect to hear announcements of other activities soon, so stay tuned.

Yesterday at E3, Nintendo announced the upcoming release of the Wii version of the hit series Animal Crossing. Dubbed "Animal Crossing: City Folk", the game features traditional Animal Crossing gameplay with some new features such as a City you can travel to in order to interact with other players in a massively single player experience. That is, you can access other players' content through an auction house, but you won't actually be playing with those other players. You can also view the top rated houses here.
In addition, ACCF will feature the ability to visit your friends' towns via Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. It is also the first game that will have support for VOIP via the WiiSpeak peripheral, which will be available separately.
