Nintendo Pumpkins: The Ultimate Collection
Posted 10/31/2008 at 12:00:01 AM

Happy Halloween Nintendo fans! Through the years, pumpkin art seems to have grown by leaps and bounds. Through my childhood years, I recall nothing but the typical faces on pumpkins that everyone would carve, but now that everyone can easily share pictures, plans, and outlines, there seems to be a new "crop" of wonderful jack-o-lanterns with each succesive Halloween and a lot of competitiveness among carvers to come up with the most creative and well engineered versions of their subjects.

So in honor of the season, grab a cup of hot apple cider and enjoy these 26 awesome Nintendo pumpkins!

Mario Pumpkins
Of course when dealing with Nintendo pumpkins, Mario is naturally going to be the #1 subject of choice. We've decided we'll get him out the way immediately and then we can all enjoy the more imaginative stuff.

Poor Mario must have gotten a nasty surprise for this one..

Mario goes back to his 8-bit roots for this one..

..and our pick for the best Mario pumpkin goes to this Mario 3 rendition..

Zelda Pumpkins
Compared to a lot of these other pumpkins, some of the Zelda stuff almost seems like a cop-out, being that these symbols are so simple(compared to a lot of this other stuff).

That being said, these next two are the complete opposite.. especially this great Cellda pumpkin!

Metroid Pumpkins
The Metroid upgrade ball is one of the most iconic items in videogame history, and a really cool idea for a pumpkin.

These Metroids are both pretty cool, and fittingly scary for Halloween!

Other Nintendo Pumpkins

This one isn't carved but we were surprised to see such a lack of Boo's

Another one that isn't carved, but Bob-omb is a really inventive idea!

It's Pikachu, the most popular Pokemon..

and Kirby's nemesis, Metaknight..

Over the years, Sonic and Megaman have arguably become as much a part of the Nintendo family as Mario and Luigi..

Controllers and Logos are very popular too..

If Wiimotes were pumpkins, bowling would be a lot more fun!

Thanks to everyone for sharing these with us all over the web for the past few years and again,.. have a Happy Halloween!

SEGA picks up The Conduit
Posted 10/29/2008 at 1:56:20 PM

SEGA confirmed today that it will be publishing The Conduit in North America in early 2009. Rumors had been spreading like wildfire across the 'net for hours before the confirmation due to a "The Conduit" folder spotted on a public SEGA ftp server.

With both Madworld and The Conduit now under their wing, SEGA seems to have a lot of confidence in the hardcore gamers that just can't seem to get enough on the little white box.

Thanks, Mobster

Spiderman Web of Shadows Review Roundup
Posted 10/28/2008 at 3:43:11 PM

When we started hearing about Spiderman Web of Shadows a few months back, we had some really high hopes for the game. We were big fans of the previous Spiderman games, even if 3 was a little downhill.. and the open endedness of WOS seemed like a great idea.

Unfortunately, it looks like early impessions of the game aren't too favorable.. and in a holiday season like this one, no game can afford that.

Check out the reviews below for a better idea about what the industry liked and what it didn't..
