Tatsunoko vs. Capcom game data page
Posted 10/29/2009 at 11:08:33 AM

That's right! With the recently released Tatsunoko vs. Capcom box art, we figured it was high time to get it's data page up and running so it's ready for you to start building a friend roster as soon as it's released.

So what does this mean until then? You can savor the wonderful boxart and expand the video section to watch tons of videos of the game in action.

That should hold you over until the game is released in January, right? Ok, maybe not.. but we're sure it'll get you through the leftover time during your lunchbreak.. and that has to count for something!

Phat is Back - Nintendo confirms DSi LL
Posted 10/29/2009 at 8:27:51 AM

You've surely heard it rumored around the 'net the past few days. A new DSi with larger screens. Nintendo denied it briefly, but today it's officially appeared on Nintendo of Japan's website, and the newly designed DSi will actually be on sale in just 3 weeks from now on November 21st.

So what sets this thing apart from the previous DSi? Well, larger screens for starters. It has a pen-sized stylus as well, and a larger battery. But probably the biggest change is the physical size of the unit.. it's ginormous! It's also releasing in a wine-red sort of color, surely designed to appeal to older, more civilized gamers. It will also cost more than the standard DSi, so perhaps we'll still have the choice of the smaller model.

We love the idea of the larger screens, but we feel like the standard-sized DSi had plenty of frame to it that could have been used to fit them.. though it's possible that the larger screen really does need the larger battery to go with it. Overall we think making the DSi less portable is a step backwards.. but like all Nintendo products, we're sure they'll have great success with it.. if not with the traveling youngsters, then perhaps with the older sit-on-the-couch-and-do-a-crossword types.

ALERT: Deals at Amazon: Spend $80 on games, get $40 , and Wii Gold Box -Today-
    Posted 10/27/2009 at 8:44:30 AM

For some reason, this year seems to be bringing with it an especially early Christmas push. Ihop is selling gingerbread pancakes, Dollar Tree is stoked with wrapping paper and ornamenets, and it's still a week before Halloween!

If you're one of the people who doesn't think this is a sign of the coming Apocalypse, you may be willing to start your shopping early and take advantage of some big deals Amazon has going on this week.

The first is a whole day of Gold Box Deals on Wii games. The all-day(or until sold out) deal is Ninja Turtles Smash Up for only $30, and the rest of the clues for the day are as follows(times listed are EST):

  • 9am - Relive your glory days in the arcades with this horror shooter. (House of The Dead 2 & 3 Return)
  • 12pm - Work out for the Cure! (EA Sports Active - Breast Cancer Awareness Edition)
  • 3pm - Ninjas can be cute.
  • 5pm - This is one house where you don't want to trick or treat.
  • 7pm - Join our favorite detective on this chilling mystery.
  • 9pm - Bring it on!

  • Keep checking this blog post as we'll update it throughout the day as we discover all the titles, or head over to the Gold Box Page to see for yourself.

The second deal we're passing on is a spend $80 get $40(in credit for a future game purchase). This may be a great opportunity to stock up on some games you missed or grab gifts for friends. Most of Amazon's games are under MSRP so you may need to purchase 3 titles to qualify for this. Head on over to their site for more details.

    Nintendo Download Monday: Domo madness!
    Posted 10/19/2009 at 1:12:28 PM

Wow. This is probably the busiest Download Monday ever across all of Nintendo's various download services. This is largely due to the arrival of *five* Domo games on the DSiware service. Don't fret though, if you're into that, because each of them are only 200 points.

Wow, remember this feature? Yes, it's been quite some time since we featured a TGIF Tattoo, but we're going to be back on it for a bit since it always seemed to be popular.

It aired on the now defunct(or at least re-branded "Philly57") to coincide with the also defun ..continue reading Mario sez: Do Drugs, Go To Hell

    Zero Punctuation review of Scribblenauts
    Posted 10/14/2009 at 2:00:00 PM

We thought of including this video in a review roundup for Scribblenauts, but we can never really take Yahtzee seriously enough to consider these "reviews".

That's not to say we're giving Scribblenauts a golden ticket.. he certainly has a lot of valid points. We just find it hard to believe ..continue reading Zero Punctuation review of Scribblenauts
